Homework #3
[08/07/26]
Lots of subscribers at earlier stages of their trading journey ask me for guidance or reference materials. Sharing two pieces that I have come across in the past couple of weeks, which serve as great ‘primers’ for all things macro (A) and microstructure (B).
A) Jordan Rochester, incumbently Mizuho’s head of FICC Strategy but of prior Nomura fame, compiled and published the below slide deck this week, to help analysts get to grips with the idea framework and interest rate curves etc. I strongly recommend reading this before tackling B, if you decide to explore these items.
B) Lord Fed’s Gazette - a substack content producer that I was not previously familiar with - produced this FX market microstructure deep-dive, which I found myself coming to the last paragraph of, despite already knowing much of the content. Ergo, very well written and I cannot fault it… until the trade idea generation section, at which point I recognised him/her as a competitor! Anyway, a very succinct article written by someone with great experience and that saves me a lot of publication!
